QuickAccents is a kind of spell-checker for accents and breathings.  You enter the text, and it tells you whether you have the accentuation as it is in the New Testament.

It also has a 'cheat' mode in which you enter the text and it supplies the accents, breathings, and iota subscripts.  At present it handles only New Testament Greek.

QuickAccents is shareware.  You can use it 10 times to see if it's for you.  After that, you must register -- price $17.90  (10 GBP).

System Requirements

These products require Windows 95 or later, including 98, ME, NT4, 2000 and XP. 

Installation Notes

All you need to do is double-click the downloaded .exe file.

If you have an older operating system and do not have the new HTML Help installed, the help function will not operate.  If you find this is the case, visit the Microsoft HTML Help site and download HhUpd.exe.  However most people will have had this installed with IE4 or later.

The SPIonic polytonic Greek font is installed if not already present (by permission of the copyright holder, Jimmy Adair).

Known Bugs and risks

There are currently no known bugs. Bug reports are welcome.  

Legal disclaimer: This software carries no warranties of any kind. (However you should in fact find it useful, and you can try it out for free). 

When you install it, try running it with something like 'lo&gos' to check the installation worked. You are not recommended to enter very large quanities of Greek text as a first test, as this will be very slow!

Licensing/Registration/Price

This product is shareware.  You can try it out for 10 times free of charge.  After that, it will cease working unless you register the product using a credit card.  The price is $17.90.  If you aren't based in the USA you can still use your credit card, and Paypal will perform the necessary conversions (into UK pounds sterling, as a matter of fact).

You purchase it from within QuickAccents itself, not from this site.  Do this by clicking the button marked 'Purchase' on the 'nag' screen, with your internet connection running.  This will take you to a secure server, run by WORLDPAY, where you can give your credit card details(VISA, MASTERCARD, SWITCH, SOLO, EUROCARD or JCB), and which will automatically unlock your software once you have done so.  If for some reason you are unable to make this work, contact us and we can do a manual registration.  This will still mean using the WORLDPAY internet site, tho.
